This project holds a special place for me. The idea was simple but not easy: put bass and drums front and center, not as support instruments, but as the featured voices of the music.
Dusan Benadik is, in my opinion, the most in-demand drummer in Prievidza and one of the best I've ever had the pleasure of sharing a stage or studio with. The two of us recorded this project at a studio in Prievidza during one of my visits home to Slovakia, working from original arrangements I wrote specifically for the format. Groove-oriented music that, I hope, makes the case that the rhythm section deserves its moment in the spotlight.
